Another estrange sister sends photo of her and female partner. After 17 yrs of not seeing each other...right?

I e-mail back that I don't hold it against her for being gay. To each their own etc. (I've been a happily married woman for 34 yrs.) Gay sister and partner were very angry that I wrote I can accept them. Relationship ceased again. Suggestions anyone?
